There’s a new product available now for folks who want to build a website but don’t understand all of the HTML, PHP or ASP code. It’s called Blinkweb and it’s completely free…sort of…

- It works with all kinds of payment processors;
- It really is incredibly easy to use.
The Down Side
- To get your site absolutely free, you need to use a blinkweb subdomain so your site will look like yoursite.blinkweb.com;
- You can register your own domain name with Blinkweb, but if you register your domain through them, you’ll need to purchase hosting which is currently $1 for the first month, $14.95/month thereafter.
- You CAN transfer a domain you already own to Blinkweb for $14.95 and then the typical $14.95 / month thereafter to remain hosted with Blinkweb
- Additionally, if you create a site and want to download it, you can also do this as well. This can be a dream come true for a code-challenged person. There are fees associated with this service but when you compare it to the ease of creating your site, a paltry $9.99 is chump change. They also allow you to sign up for a lifetime version as well so you can build and download as many sites as you wish.
All in all, if you’re tired of trying to figure out how to design your site and just want something really simple to help you, Blinkweb could be the next best thing next to sliced bread for you.

The New .me Domains On Sale Thursday

Overhyped? Maybe. But if you’ve ever been wanting to get that one fantastic two or three letter domain name, your next chance will be on Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at Noon EST.
There’s a bit of a history behind the .me domain concering the country of Montenegro and you can read about the history of this domain at Wikipedia.
Long story short, anyone can purchase the .me domains as of Thursday so if you want to get in on all the fuss and try to get that *perfect* domain name, Thursday would be the day.
It is kind of catchy too…a .me could be used for countless domain names such as:
- hear.me
- see.me
- live.me
- show.me
- fire.me
- etc.
You’ll have to use your own imagination to come up with a catchy .me domain.
GoDaddy by the way does have rights to sell the .me domains and their rumored to cost $19.99 a year as opposed to the paltry $9 or so you pay now.
Consider this a fair game warning and snap one of those domains up if you can.
