I know, I know, you probably don’t care so much about that…but what you might care about is something coming out tomorrow.

It’s VERY likely that over the past week or so you’ve heard about Commission Blueprint 2.0 that’s coming out tomorrow…now hear me out on this one.

In essence Chris, the author talks about how, especially if you’re new to affiliate marketing, that first sale can’t come fast enough.  Once someone realizes the potential of affiliate marketing, the very first thought that generally goes through your mind is one of “how quickly can I make a sale?”.

But oftentimes, if you’re just learning the ropes, it can be a frustrating process.  There is after all, so much to learn not only about affiliate marketing but about getting traffic to your site using SEO and/or PPC, understanding email lists, and most of all, understanding that the $1 you make today could be $10 in your pocket tomorrow if you’re willing to have a little patience.

As Chris mentions (and is often the case) most folks who put forth the time and effort learning all of the ins-and-outs of building and marketing their site want a site visitor to purchase something right now!  And in the event that they don’t, most new affiliate marketers consider the potential site visitor a waste of time and/or the product they’re promoting to not be worth the virtual paper it’s printed on.

The fact is, all marketing, takes time.  Especially affiliate marketing.  And there are so many new affiliate marketers who want the money in their bank account today and don’t want to have to wait for that money to come rolling in; they see a super-affiliate create hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions in sales every year and instantly expect to be just like that person.

Patience, especially in affiliate marketing is a huge virtue, and it will make the difference between $100 today or $1,000 in six months.

This is a very well-written piece and I highly suggest that you take the time to read through it all.  Especially if you’re brand new to affiliate marketing and feel as if you’re just not getting anywhere with all of the hard work you’ve put in so far.

A dollar today or ten tomorrow?  The difference between short term and long term sales

With all of the “promises” and “quick schemes” there are online it’s very, VERY hard to know who is telling the truth and who is just after your money.  (I speak from experience here).

One of those people that I DO count on that one hand of mine, is Mark Ling.  I have known Mark for well over two years and he’s the creator of the Affiloblueprint product.  If you want to follow someone who has actually figured it out…this is the guy.

He is not just someone who teaches affiliate marketing, he has done it himself since 1999 and he’s widely known as a “super-affiliate”.

I remember distinctly back when he first started up his original Affilorama program, where he showed people screenshots of what he at the time paid in Pay-Per-Click costs and it was well over 200,000 a year.   That’s more than some people pay for their homes!  But he didn’t start off that way.    Here’s how Mark tells his story:

The AffiloBlueprint product is a 12 week program with 55 video lessons. It starts out with how to find a profitable niche and market research, you’re taken through picking keywords, creating content, building a website, search-engine-optimization, creating newsletters, analytics and troubleshooting, and pay per click. ClickBank has been a favorite amongst both affiliates and sellers of digital products for many years.  ClickBank currently has over 100,000 affiliates and over 10,000 digital products.  Click2Sell however, is slightly different and is obviously competing for the business that ClickBank currently has.

First off, Click2Sell not only offers digital products but physical products as well as subscriptions, something that ClickBank just recently implemented.  However, ClickBank doesn’t offer you the opportunity to sell physical products like Click2Sell does.

Click2Sell also offers someone selling a product the ability to manage their Articles, Banners and E-mail messages used to help affiliates promote the product.  ClickBank currently does not offer these tools for the merchant but rather leaves it up to the merchant themselves to create these items for their affiliates.

A big plus is that you also have access to who your affiliates are; their name as well as how many visitors they’ve had, their number of sales, the ability to ban the affiliate if necessary, and even email the affiliate directly.  Something again that ClickBank doesn’t allow you to do.

Merchant Fees

In order to list a product, ClickBank charges you $49.95 however, Click2Sell only charges a fee per transaction and no more than $3 per transaction for products over $40.00; $1 for items $19.99 and less.

There are no fees whatsoever for affiliates.

Affiliate Information

As an affiliate of any product within the Click2Sell marketplace, you can sort the available products by category; very much like ClickBank but if you’ve visited ClickBank in order to promote one of their products, you’ll notice that the statistics for the products are a little proprietary and take a bit of reading to understand what they mean.

Click2Sell on the other hand, allows you to sort the products by more well known terms such as:

• Commission %
• Dollars earned per sale
• Rank
• Popularity
• % of sales made by affiliates
• As well as the conversion rate of the product which is a HUGE factor in helping determing how well you may do per 100 visitors.

Additionally, Click2Sell allows PayPal as a payment processor, something that ClickBank does not except for recurring subscriptions – See this post.  This will be a huge plus for many people.

However, unlike ClickBank who acts as a third party when it comes time to pay affiliates, Click2Sell leaves the payments up to the vendor supplying the product.  This could be a downside for those who are concerned that they may not get paid their commissions.  It is a plus with ClickBank that they handle all of the payments and send you a check every two weeks.

The second downside is that Click2Sell doesn’t have as many products as ClickBank does but I expect that to be changing as the company grows.

I really believe that Click2Sell has a large future with many merchants as well as affiliates checking out what they have to offer and giving them a try.

While ClickBank has an almost cult-like following, the company has made some decisions in the past that have not made merchants nor affiliates happy.

As an affiliate you now have a second option open to you, so take advantage of both streams of revenue.
